Homelessness is at an all-time high in Metro Vancouver with more than 36 people without a place to call home. It's a statistic that organizers on the coldest side of the year want to lower. The Family Friendly Walk supports charities serving hungry and homeless people.

Coldest Night on Global BC - 2021

The annual Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser adapts to COVID-19 with creative solo walks. Craig Savage and his son walked 23 km in the snow to support Metro Vancouver’s less fortunate. The main CityReach Care Society event is next weekend.

Coldest Night & CityReach Feature - CBC 2021

Father and son brave the snow, walking 23 km from Port Coquitlam to Vancouver for the Coldest Night of the Year campaign. This annual event raises funds for the needy, with a virtual edition encouraging solo walks. CityReach Care Society aims to raise $150,000 to support their growing food hamper program during the pandemic.
